CERP Vision Statement

On February 8-9, 2001, USGS managers and discipline leads, South Florida Place-Based Studies steering committee members, and several others met to formulate a plan for USGS participation in CERP. The following Vision Statement was developed at that meeting:

The USGS, in concert with its partners, will provide the scientific foundation to facilitate and support an enhanced level of certainty in decision-making and adaptive assessment for the restoration of the greater Everglades ecosystem through:

• · Science plan development
• · Scientific review
• · Monitoring, modeling and process studies
• · Information management, interpretation, and synthesis
• · Timely, clear and concise communication of scientific results
