The project started in fiscal year 2010 (October 2009). Due to a number of related budgetary and project staffing changes, the project was suspended leading to a hiatus period extending from July 2011 through April 2013. During the 22-month hiatus period critical work products were completed, thus providing a foundation for a future restart of the project. In May 2013, the project was restarted and during fiscal year 2014, work resumed and focused on an assessment of hydrologic conditions in the study area encompassing the Floridan aquifer system, including analyses of hydrologic budgets and spatiotemporal patterns of rainfall, stream flow, groundwater levels, spring flow, and water use. Starting in the spring of 2015, work began on the regional groundwater flow model.
